After 10:00 the day really begins, with tour buses gathering near Eminönü square. The calmest window with the most flattering light is 08:30 to 10:00. The sun has already cleared the Asian shore and the water turns into a sheet of soft gold. For travellers planning a Bosphorus tour, our location is a clear advantage. We are five minutes on foot from Eminönü pier along Hüdavendigar Caddesi. The Sirkeci tram stop on the T1 line is about four minutes away. If you’re staying at a Sultanahmet hotel, we’re only one tram stop down the line; with morning traffic, walking is often quicker than a taxi.
For cruise passengers, Galataport is around 700 metres or a nine-minute walk away. A Sirkeci breakfast plan can begin around 09:00 at our terrace and finish by 10:30, leaving time for a Bosphorus boat tour or a Topkapı Palace visit afterwards.
Tips for families with children
Weekday mornings are the most comfortable slot for families. The terrace is wide and well ventilated, so when small children get restless they can stand by the railing and watch the ferries.
