A north-east-facing terrace lines up the Bosphorus mouth, the Galata Bridge and the Hagia Sophia silhouette in a single panoramic frame. Sunset hour (May–Sept 18:30–19:30, Oct–April 17:00–18:00) is the strongest moment — we hold the proposal table on a first-confirmed basis.
Candle, flowers, custom message
Standard setup: candle path on the table, fresh roses, optional "Will you marry me?" message on the dessert plate, in any language. Add-on packages from €120 (candle + roses) to €320 (full floral arch + custom signage + cake).
Photographer + champagne ready
We coordinate with two trusted Istanbul photographers/videographers — they arrive 15 minutes before sunset, capture the moment discreetly and email edited photos within 48 hours. A bottle of champagne or a Turkish sparkling Kayra Brut is held in the chiller for the “yes”.
Why Pino Gare for the proposal
Three things matter for a proposal restaurant: a view that makes the moment, a kitchen that delivers the dinner that follows, and a service team that handles the choreography without making it obvious. Our terrace gives you the view by default — there is no “bad table” for the Bosphorus side. The Romantic set menu (€48 per person) is built around the moment: welcome cocktail at arrival, amuse-bouche while the sun is still up, main course as the city lights take over, dessert with the custom message as the centrepiece.
Equally important is what does not happen: no loud announcement, no surprise lighting change, no rushed table service that breaks the moment. The team is briefed on the exact minute you plan to ask; everything else slides quietly into place around it.
The proposal table
We reserve table 4 or table 6 by default for proposals — both are corner tables with an unobstructed Bosphorus view, slightly set back from the main flow so the moment is private. If you have a date preference, book at least 7 days ahead in summer (June–September); winter weekends are usually open with 48 hours notice. Sunset windows fill first; if your date is fixed but the time is flexible, our team will suggest the exact slot that lines up with sunset on the day.
On arrival you check in discreetly. The candle path and roses are already laid; the photographer (if booked) is positioned. After the amuse-bouche, the sun starts to drop. The team paces the main course so that — when you are ready — the dessert with the engraved message arrives.
Packages and pricing
Romantic set menu: €48 per person (dinner only, two guests). Proposal add-on packages: Candle + 12 red roses €120; Candle + 24 roses + custom dessert message €180; Floral table arch + 30 roses + sparkling reception + custom cake €320. Photographer (1-hour session, 25 edited photos within 48 hours): €240. Videographer (2-minute edit, raw clips on request): €320. Live acoustic guitarist for the proposal moment: €180.
All add-ons are quoted in writing before booking. No surprises on the bill. Champagne and Turkish sparkling options are listed separately on the drinks menu; if you prefer a bottle held in advance we can arrange that as part of the package.
How it works, step by step
Step 1 — WhatsApp us with your preferred date and any details (the language of the message, photographer yes/no, dietary notes, the name of your partner). Step 2 — we confirm the table and send a written package proposal within 24 hours. Step 3 — a 30 % deposit secures the date; full balance settled after the dinner. Step 4 — on the night, the team executes the brief; the only thing you have to do is ask the question.
For privacy: payment, photographer coordination and any logistics happen in advance. Your partner sees only the candles, the view and the dessert.

In nine years we have never had a no. If it ever happened, the team would dial back immediately, replace the dessert plate, and clear the floral setup discreetly. Charges for floral and photographer add-ons would still apply, but the dinner can quietly continue.
